June 23, 2026

Hua Hin's night market is one of the best in Thailand — not the biggest, but arguably the tastiest. Running nightly along Dechanuchit Road, it's a 200-metre strip of seafood grills, Thai dessert stalls, and handmade craft vendors that's been feeding locals and visitors for decades.

The Night Market

When: Nightly from around 5 PM to 11 PM Where: Dechanuchit Road (the soi running from Phetkasem Road to the fishing pier) What: Primarily food, with some clothing and crafts

What to Eat

  • Grilled squid and prawns — The fishing pier at the end of the market supplies fresh-today seafood. Grilled whole squid for 60-100 THB.
  • Pad thai — Several stalls compete, all are good. 50-70 THB.
  • Boat noodles — Tiny bowls, rich broth. 15-20 THB per bowl, eat 4-5.
  • Coconut pancakes (khanom buang) — Crispy crepe with sweet or savoury filling.
  • Mango sticky rice — When in season (April-June), the mangoes here are incredible.
  • Seafood restaurants — At the pier end, sit-down restaurants serve fresh fish, crab, and lobster at reasonable prices (200-500 THB per dish).

Hua Hin Beyond the Night Market

Hua Hin is a Thai royal resort town — the King's summer palace is here. The vibe is distinctly Thai (this is where Bangkok families come for weekends) rather than touristy.

  • Hua Hin Beach — Long and wide, good for morning walks and horseback riding
  • Cicada Market — Weekend art and craft market (Friday-Sunday evenings)
  • Khao Takiab (Chopstick Mountain) — Temple on a hillside with monkey colony and beach views
  • Hua Hin Railway Station — One of the most photogenic train stations in Thailand. Victorian-era design.
  • Plearn Wan — Retro Thai market styled like a 1950s village. Kitschy but fun.

FAQ

Is Hua Hin night market the same every night?

The permanent food stalls operate every night. Some craft and clothing vendors are weekend-only. The best night to visit is Friday or Saturday when the full market is running. Weeknights are quieter but still have excellent food.

Is Hua Hin better than Pattaya?

They serve different audiences. Hua Hin is family-oriented, Thai-focused, and calmer. Pattaya is louder, more international, and has more nightlife. For food, beaches, and a Thai holiday feel, Hua Hin wins. For nightlife and activities, Pattaya wins. Hua Hin is also closer to Bangkok's wealthy suburbs, giving it a more upmarket feel.

How much should you budget for the night market?

300-500 THB buys a full evening of eating: 2-3 dishes, a dessert, and drinks. If you add seafood restaurant dining at the pier end, budget 500-1,000 THB per person.
